0% Zip Blind Questions
Is 0% Zip Blind suitable if I want more privacy?
Yes. 0% Zip Blind is the better option if your main concern is privacy, strong shade and reducing rain splash into the balcony. It gives a more covered feel compared to 1% fabric.
Will 0% Zip Blind block the view completely?
No. 0% Zip Blind is not the same as blackout fabric. It helps with shade, glare reduction and rain protection, but it does not fully block visibility like an indoor blackout blind.
Can 0% Zip Blind help when it rains?
0% Zip Blind helps reduce rain splash and outdoor exposure when properly installed. For heavy rain with strong wind, some water movement may still happen depending on wind direction and site condition.
Is 0% Zip Blind the same as indoor blackout blind?
No. 0% Zip Blind is an outdoor balcony blind made for shade,weather protection. Indoor blackout blind is mainly for bedrooms and light blocking. They are used for different purposes.
How wide can 0% Zip Blind be made?
For single or LED type, the width range is usually 645mm to 4500mm, with maximum height up to 5800mm. For level 1 single units, the width can go up to 6800mm with maximum height up to 3200mm, subject to site checking.

What is the main difference between 1% and 0% Zip Blind?
1% Zip Blind gives a softer outdoor view and slight airflow, while still helping with sun, glare and privacy. 0% Zip Blind gives stronger coverage and a more enclosed feel.
Can I still see outside with 1% Zip Blind?
Yes, 1% fabric gives a softer view compared to 0%. It is suitable if you do not want the balcony to feel too closed, but still want shade and comfort.
Will 1% Zip Blind still block sun?
Yes. 1% Zip Blind helps reduce harsh sunlight, glare and heat. It is a good choice for balconies that need shade but still want a lighter and more open feeling.
Is 1% Zip Blind good for airflow?
It allows slight airflow compared to 0% fabric. If airflow is your biggest concern, Zip Mesh or a 2-in-1 setup with mesh may be more suitable.
Which fabric should I choose if my balcony faces afternoon sun?
If the sun is very strong and you want more coverage, 0% may be better. If you still want some outdoor view and a softer balcony feel, 1% is a good option. Our team can recommend based on your balcony photo.

Zip Mesh Questions
Is Zip Mesh mainly for insects or for shade?
Zip Mesh is mainly for airflow, insect protection and a more breathable balcony feel. It can reduce some sunlight, but it is not as covered as 0% or 1% Zip Blind.
Will Zip Mesh make the balcony stuffy?
No. Zip Mesh is designed to be more breathable. It is suitable for homeowners who still want wind and ventilation while adding a layer of protection.
Can Zip Mesh stop mosquitoes and insects?
Zip Mesh helps reduce insects entering the balcony area when properly installed and closed. The final result also depends on the surrounding gaps and site condition.
Is Zip Mesh strong enough for outdoor use?
Yes. The mesh material is designed for outdoor balcony use, with strong fabric performance and proper zip track support. It is suitable for daily use in Singapore homes.
Does Zip Mesh give privacy?
It gives some privacy, especially from a distance and depending on lighting. However, if privacy is your main concern, 0% Zip Blind will give stronger coverage.

2-in-1 Questions
What is 2-in-1 Zip Blind and Mesh?
It combines a zip blind layer and a zip mesh layer in one outdoor system. You can use the blind layer for shade, privacy and rain protection, and use the mesh layer for airflow and insect protection.
Who should choose 2-in-1 instead of just Zip Blind?
2-in-1 is suitable if you want more flexibility. For example, you may want stronger shade during hot afternoon sun, but still want airflow and insect protection at other times.
Can I choose 0% or 1% fabric for the zip blind layer?
Yes. The blind layer can be recommended based on your needs. 0% is better for stronger privacy and rain protection, while 1% is better for soft daylight, slight airflow and outdoor view.
Is 2-in-1 suitable for every balcony?
Not always. It depends on the balcony size, height, structure and installation space. Our team will usually need to check photos or do a site measurement before confirming the suitable setup.
How tall can 2-in-1 Zip Blind and Mesh be made?
For 2-in-1 setups, the maximum height is usually up to 3200mm. The final recommendation depends on the balcony condition and installation requirements.
What is the warranty for Zip Blind and Zip Mesh?
Zip Blind and Zip Mesh come with AOK motor warranty for 5 years. The mechanism warranty is 1 year, excluding normal wear and tear.

Zip Blind Fabric Questions
What fabric options do you have for Zip Blind?
We use outdoor zip blind fabrics such as Phifer and Basden, depending on the selected fabric type and product setup. Both are designed for outdoor balcony use, but they have different finishing, feel and performance details.
What is the difference between Phifer and Basden fabric?
Phifer fabric is commonly selected for shade, glare reduction and outdoor comfort, with a clean and refined finish. Basden fabric is another outdoor fabric option with strong material performance and a slightly different texture and feel. The best choice depends on your balcony direction, sunlight, view preference and selected colour.
Is 0% Zip Blind fabric the same as blackout?
No. 0% Zip Blind fabric is not the same as indoor blackout fabric. It helps with shade, glare reduction and rain protection, but it does not fully block visibility like a blackout blind used inside a bedroom.
Which fabric should I choose for strong afternoon sun?
If your balcony gets strong afternoon sun, 0% fabric is usually more suitable for stronger shade and glare reduction. If you still want a softer outdoor view and a less enclosed feeling, 1% fabric may be more suitable.
Does the fabric colour affect the final look?
Yes. Darker colours usually give a sharper outdoor view and a stronger visual contrast. Lighter colours can make the balcony feel softer and brighter. We usually recommend choosing based on your balcony design, sunlight direction and how much outdoor view you want to keep.
MOTOR & SMART CONTROL
Zip Blind Motor & Smart Control Questions
What motor is used for Zip Blind?
Our motorised Zip Blind uses AOK motor. The AOK motor warranty is 5 years, while the mechanism warranty is 1 year, excluding normal wear and tear.
Can the Zip Blind be controlled by remote?
Yes. Motorised Zip Blind can be controlled by remote, so you do not need to manually operate the blind up and down.
Can I use the Tuya app to control the Zip Blind?
Yes, Tuya app control can be arranged with the suitable smart setup. This will depend on the motor and control configuration selected for your installation.
Do I need a Zigbee hub?
For app control, a Zigbee hub may be needed depending on the setup. Our team will advise you during the quotation or measurement stage if a hub is required for your Zip Blind system.
Can Zip Blind connect to Google Home or other smart home apps?
At the moment, our smart control setup is mainly based on AOK motor with Tuya app and Zigbee hub. We do not list Google Home, Alexa or other smart home app support as a standard feature.
Do I need to prepare a power point?
For motorised Zip Blind, power access may be required depending on the installation setup. Our team will check your balcony layout and advise the most suitable motor and power arrangement.

Showroom Questions
Where is your showroom?
Our showroom is located at Vertex, 33 Ubi Ave 3, #01-05, Singapore 408868. You can visit us to view the fabric, colour options and installation details in person.
How do I get to the showroom by MRT or bus?
You can take MRT to Ubi MRT and continue by walking or taking a short bus ride, depending on your route. There are also bus stops around Ubi Ave 3 near Vertex. For the easiest direction, please check our showroom page before visiting.
Do I need to make an appointment before visiting?
It is better to contact us before coming down, so our team can make sure someone is available to assist you with fabric selection, product explanation and quotation questions.
INSTALLATION
Installation Questions
How is the installation arranged?
After the quotation and measurement are confirmed, our team will arrange the installation date and time with the customer. The appointment will be scheduled based on site readiness and team availability.
How long does installation usually take?
Installation usually takes around 3 hours. For larger balconies or more complex setups, it may take around 4 to 5 hours depending on the site condition.
What happens during installation?
Our installer will check the site, install the system, test the operation and make sure the blind or mesh can move properly. For motorised Zip Blind, we will also check the remote or smart control setup where applicable.
Will your team clean up after installation?
Yes. After installation, our team will help clean up the working area and check that everything is working properly before leaving.
Do I need to prepare anything before installation?
It is helpful to keep the balcony area clear before the installer arrives. If there are furniture, plants or personal items near the installation area, please move them aside so the team can work safely.
